Powering the Nation: Exploring Energy Flow and Sustainability in Philippine Power Plants by Rhianne Manzano
In the role of energy researchers, students were challenged to create a documentary-style report that educates the public on how energy flows through a selected power plant system in the Philippines. Their objective: to trace the journey of energy from resource extraction to end-user delivery, while analyzing the plant’s efficiency, sustainability, and contribution to the national grid.
By investigating real-world energy systems, students gained a deeper understanding of energy transformations within power plants and the environmental implications of energy production. Their research-driven insights aimed to highlight opportunities for improving sustainability and reducing the ecological footprint of the country’s energy infrastructure.
